In terms of movies I've watched recently besides HP, while on the plane to HK I watched Confessions of a Shopaholic, which was fluffy and kind of vapid, in an I-can't-not-watch-until-the-end kind of chick flick movie.
I kind of want to see The Time Traveler's Wife, if only to stare at Eric Bana because I think he is gorgeous. Especially his jawline. Epic. Oh and I want to see Julie & Julia though; it looks like another cheery chick flick as well.
The end. So not really movies that I've seen recently... but ones I wanna see. :)
this was a summer of movies (and TV) for me. considering how i stayed at bryn mawr this summer with other bryn mawr students/alumnae, we were ALL about the movies. here are a select few that i recommend:
1. some like it hot - this is rated #1 on AFI's funniest movies. i didn't believe it, considering how it's from the 60's and marilyn monroe is in it. it's actually very funny! i can see why it's #1. it must've been revolutionary, especially for its time period. there are even some passing references to bryn mawr! we have it in canaday.
2. when harry met sally - smart and funny "chick flick." it has so many great scenes and i feel like it's THE original romantic comedy. many contemporaries are no match for this one.
3. princess bride - i watched this because a friend recommended it but i didn't like it. not my kind of humor, although there were a few funny scenes. it wasn't enough to make me like it.
4. pocahontas - does this count as a film?? i saw it for the first time in years and i found it very disturbing. the romanticized relationship between pocahontas and john smith is easily accepted and not criticized by children, but as an adult it's just strange to see how language barriers are overcome. let's not even begin with the racial issues...
5. heathers - a dark comedy about high school in the 80's. mean girls was greatly influenced by this film. it's pretty good and we have it in canaday.
let me just give a special shout out to a TV show - true blood! i just started watching this and it is so good! it reminded me of what i had heard of twilight. i stayed away from twilight because it just seems like a typical tween series but i still heard enough to know what it was about. supposedly twilight copied the true blood series, but who knows. it's just what i hear. anyway, true blood is def for adults and it's just ridic how dramatic it is.

i watched Hitch awhile ago...it was good, despite the chick-flick status. also i really liked the opening song, "Wonderful World" by Sam Cooke. you should download it.
